Academic Underachievement
1. performance below a particular person’s predicted capacity, especially as indicated by norm-referenced and standardized intelligence or aptitude tests.
2. lack of drive in pursuit of scholastic goals. Causative factors can include unstimulating curriculum and instruction, negative attitudes of parents or teachers, changes in the student, and individual choices that militate against learning.
